So fun. I was expecting it to be dated which it is at some level and yet the scares totally work. It reminded me of The Innkeepers, another horror film I liked recently (I don’t seem to like very many of them) in that the main character is likable or at the very least, doesn’t come off as an idiot who deserves whatever is coming to her. Lots of really great sequences especially that horrifying dinner sequence. Some really interesting and unusual stylistic choices too with the camera alternating mostly between extreme close-ups and some remote, often obfuscating long shots that makes the whole film even more disorienting and manages to effectively distract from the mediocrity of the performances.
